Tuesday was somewhat of a rest day. It rained most of our drive south. The countryside is verdant. We saw lots of apple orchards.

We couldn’t check in until three so we had a light lunch on the Main Street.

Our room at Les Cordeliers overlooks the main square.

Surlat is a lovely medieval town. We are in the middle of the Dordogne region known for foie gras and for nuts. For dinner at L’Addresse we had foie gras to start and nut pie to end.

Very interesting nut bread and nut dessert. Town square is so picturesque. What are the average temperatures during the day? Looks beautiful!

Pam, the temperatures have been around 70 although when it’s rainy that feels colder. Yesterday when we were canoeing the high was about 65. The sun was shining which made it a perfect Fall day. BTW I love your comments and questions.

Hi Marion!! I didn’t know you were braving travelling again! We have wonderful memories of Sarlat! You certainly eat duck, duck, duck and foie gras!! And the walnuts!! You’re travelling in such a wonderful area!! Sights AND food!! We walked down a few laneways on the outskirts and picked cherries 🍒 off the trees where they overhung the footpath.😁 Magnificent chateau there too! Stay well!! Love from Mandy and Noel😘
