Greetings. I learned of your trip through Melinda Sheehan. (We both volunteer at The Stage in San Jose.)
I have just returned from a trip to Columbia and Ecuador. Melinda said you had just completed an Emerson program in Ecuador. I hoped you could share some info. I have been wanting to do an emerson program to learn/improve my limited Spanish. There seem to be many offerings in many places. However, feedback has been limited.
If you can take the time at some point in your trip or on your return toshare info, I would appreciate it.
Meanwhile, your blog is terrific.

Pamela,
I’d be more than happy to talk to you about my experiences. We’ve done week long Spanish classes twice. Once in Oaxaca, Mexico and then on this trip in Baños, Ecuador.
I don’t know if I would call them immersion because we took classes on the morning and pretty much did our own thing in the afternoons.
If you like we can talk by phone after we get back from this trip November 6. Why don’t we make an appt. let me know when is good for you. My email address is Marion.vermazen@gmail.com

Hello, Mrs. Marion!
Thank you for the amazing posts on this blog, they are very inspirational!
IN your previous blog I came across this [1] post where you mentioned Dr. Firscher`s lecture and Mr. Parkman`s essay about being a historian. The link to the lecture is broken and I couldn`t find Mr. Parkmans’s essay since he has published a couple of books.
I know it has been a while since you did the post but, could please, point out both references?
Thank you very much, in advance.
