Taipei, Day 7

Yesterday was Taiwan Retrocession Day. Because it fell on Sunday here, it is being celebrated today. Google says that Retrocession Day commemorates the retrocession of Taiwan and Penghu from Japan to the Republic of China in 1945.

This afternoon we went for a walk in Lin-Sen Park near our hotel.

Duke wanted to check out the local McDonalds. So he used up most of his Taiwan coins and had a hamburger. Although the bun is brown he said it tasted like a normal bun.

Here is the inside. Hash-browns, beef, cheese and special sauce.

For dinner we had a fabulous 7 course Chinese meal in the hotel Chinese restaurant.

Here we are with the king prawn and crab meat course.

If all goes according to plan we will start the long journey home tomorrow morning.
