Hong Kong – Day 3

This morning, after a great breakfast at the hotel buffet, we set out to go to the top of Victoria Peak, the highest point in Hong Kong. We walked to the MTR station, then took the subway under the bay to Central Station on Hong Kong Island.

Getting ready to get on the MTR.

We walked from the Central MTR station to the Peak Tram base station and took it to the top.

On the Peak Tram. It is a very steep funicular railway that has been operating since 1888.

Then we walked along Lugard Road and enjoyed the fantastic views. The temperature was around 80, the humidity around 70%. But there was a slight breeze and we were primarily in the shade, so it was fairly pleasant. The views were absolutely worth it

Then we reversed our route and went back to the hotel. After cooling off and resting we went to dinner at a pub called Ned Kelly’s Last Stand. We didn’t realize that the live music wouldn’t start until 9:30, but we decided to wait.

Dinner at Ned Kelly’s about 7:30. Ned Kelly is a legendary Australian Outlaw. The pub is owned by an Australian who opened it in 1972
I thought the trombonist was especially good.
