Linda Curry -  Retired Software Executive, Gardener,  Breast Cancer Survivor, Wife , Mother, Grandmother and Friend – Episode 13 Marion Vermazen Podcast

Creating this podcast has reminded me of what amazing and interesting friends I have. A few months ago I interviewed my friend Pat Black. Today's episode of the podcast is a conversation with my friend Linda Curry.

Here is a picture of Linda, Pat and I at my wedding.

Linda and I have been friends for 35 years. Linda recently retired from a career as an executive in the high tech software industry. Most recently she was a Senior Manager for QuickBooks Quality Assurance at Intuit. Prior to working at Intuit Linda’s career included postions as VP of Engineering Services at WebGain, Director of Quality assurance at Remedy, Director of Database quality assurance at Borland, and Senior Manager of Mac System software at Apple. Last year she moved to Reno and lives right around the corner from me. She describes herself as Happily retired from the software world and enjoying relaxation with family, friends, books, gardening, remodeling and all the other things that we like to do in our free time. She is a wife, mother and grandmother and I am honored to call her my friend.

  1. What a great interview with Linda. I worked for Linda at Intuit. Linda is a wonderful mentor and extremely fun to work with. Linda promoted me to a manager at Intuit, and also convinced me I deserved to be in that role 🙂 She also taught me how much fun it is to push back and fight for what is right. And watching Linda push back against Sr. Managers is worth the price of admission. She doesn’t back down.
There are a handful of people in your life, that when you look back, you can say were critical to your career, Linda is one of those people for me. I literally thank her silently once in a while for the lifestyle I am able to live.
I’m happy for Linda that she is retired but I also miss working with her.

  2. I met Linda in Foresthill, CA, just before she moved to Reno. She is delightful to talk to, has great humor and is a wonderful, thoughtful and bright woman. I miss her, but we keep in touch. I was sad to learn of her breast cancer. Nevertheless, I know she is positive, keeps smiling and uses her intelligence to think through all of the process of getting her health back to better than it was before, with the help of her delightful husband, friends and family. I admire her, now she is a star so everyone one else will as well!
