Marrakesh, Morocco

This morning we had a nice leisurely breakfast at our hotel. Then we read and drank our coffee next to the breakfast room.

Coffee after breakfast

Around 1pm our friends Roger and Gayle arrived from North Carolina. We will be traveling with them for the next couple of weeks.

We went for a walk to give them a feel for Marrakesh. At one point Duke bought some juice and then joined the vendor in the stall and started selling juice himself!

After an afternoon rest we went back to the market area for another memorable dinner overlooking the square.

Copenhagen, Denmark to Marrakesh, Morocco

We set our alarms for 4:00 am this morning to catch our plane for Marrakesh. It was a good thing too. Because our safe with the passports wouldn’t open. We had to get some from the hotel up to fix it. And then the security and immigration lines at the airport were long too.

Deicing the plane

The trip was uneventful and we arrived in Marrakesh with no problem. The hotel was supposed to have some one meet us with a car. He wasn’t there but when we called he showed up quickly and drove us through the very narrow streets to our hotel in the middle of the town.

On our way to our hotel

We had tea and cookies as we checked in. After naps we went out exploring. Marrakesh is a feast for the eyes. There is so much to see.

For dinner we went back to the main square and had tagine on a rooftop.
